Thank you to everyone who has come to visit us this past month! We could not be here without your support. Please continue spreading the word that we are here. Long-distance friends can also support us by purchasing books or e-books through Bookshop.org or by purchasing audiobooks at Libro.fm.
February is a short month, but there’s a lot going on! In this newsletter, we have our monthly location update, Black History Month, Valentine’s Day, a dating service for books, National Bird-Feeding Month, vendor news, and a book club update.
Location Update
As of January 30, our new location has ceiling tiles, working ceiling lights, and a fresh coat of paint! This is fantastic news, and it means we are closer to moving in. They will be installing bathroom fixtures and flooring before we can move in. Hopefully, it won’t be long now!
Black History Month
February is Black History Month! Recognition of Black History began 100 years ago with a single week founded by Dr. Carter G. Woodson in 1926. Fifty years later, in 1976, the United States government expanded the week of recognition to an entire month. The ASALH theme for this year’s Black History Month is A Century of Black History Commemorations.
In celebration of Black History Month, we’ve compiled some recommendations for you! Click the banner below to see our selections for adults and kids!

Valentine’s Day
February 14th is Valentine’s Day! Coincidentally, February 14th is also International Book-Giving Day. A thoughtfully chosen book is a great gift for anyone you love. If you are looking for something specific and can’t find it in our store, let us know, and we will order it for you if we can!
We have quite a few romance novels in store, and we have selected some for you!

Lonely Books
Dating Service
We have some lonely books looking for a reader. Meet our Lonely Books Dating Service! We are making dating profiles for some of our books to help them find their dream readers.

National Bird-Feeding Month
February is also National Bird-Feeding Month. National Bird-Feeding Month was officially recognized in 1994. Its goal is to encourage people to help birds survive the winter by providing food, water, and shelter for them.
Birds are so important, and bird populations have been tragically in decline for years. Birds are sensitive to air pollution, pesticides, and herbicides. They are also affected by changes in the climate, such as extreme weather and changes in their habitats. The maps on this website show detailed information about bird population declines. If you’d like to participate in National Bird-Feeding Month, you can read more about it here.
We don’t sell birdseed in the store, but we do have a few books starring birds! Click the banner below to find them!
