Food Pantries

The St. Louis County Library has a great LibGuide for finding resources in the St. Louis area. The O’Fallon Public Library also has a Community Resources page, which links to organizations that can provide relief for food and housing needs. Here’s a list of food pantries in Illinois, here’s the website for the United Way, and here’s the Feeding America search to find a food pantry anywhere in the country, but if you’re anywhere near TBR Books, just keep scrolling down because we’ve done the work of looking into the food pantries in our surrounding area for you.

O’Fallon

O’Fallon Food Pantry

The O’Fallon Food Pantry is located at 801 E. State Street in O’Fallon. They serve residents in O’Fallon and Shiloh. The pantry is open from 9am-12pm on Monday, 9am-3pm on Tuesday, and 9am-3pm on Friday. Their phone number is 618-624-7040.

Shiloh

Towerview Shiloh Community Food Pantry

Towerview Shiloh Community Food Pantry is run by Towerview Baptist Church. They serve people who live in the Whiteside school district, and they require proof of residency and photo ID in order to sign up. They are open on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 9am-11am. It is a drive-thru service at the back of the Towerview Baptist Church. Fairview Heights

The Urban League

The Urban League of Metropolitan Saint Louis has a location in Fairview Heights where they have a food pantry. The Urban League offers food and clothing assistance, along with a number of other programs such as employment services, housing counseling, HeadStart and Early Head Start for children, energy assistance and weatherization.

Fairview Heights Area Food Pantry

Fairview Heights Area Food Pantry is open 9am-11am Monday-Friday. It’s located behind City Hall at 10025 Bunkum Road, Fairview Heights, IL 62208. Please check their Facebook page for additional information.

Belleville

Community Interfaith Food Pantry

Community Interfaith Food Pantry is run by a governing board of 11 different faith communities. They serve people from Belleville, Swansea, and Scot AFB. Their hours are 1pm-3pm on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and 9am-11am on Tuesdays. Their phone number is 618-355-9199, and their address is 1218 West Main St, Belleville, IL 62220. Hubbard’s Haven Daily Soup Kitchen

Hubbard’s Haven Daily Soup Kitchen is part of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Belleville, IL. They are open for lunch at 12pm every single day and offer a variety of hot, nutritious meals. PSOP Belleville

PSOP is a program run by SWIC for senior citizens or disabled older adults with low incomes. They offer a monthly senior food box for anyone older than age 60 with a monthly income below $1,883 (or $2,555 for couples). They offer a lot of other programs for older adults of varying income levels, so it’s worth checking out their website. They ask that you call 618-234-4410 ext. 7035 (Marsha) or ext. 7045 (Karen) for further information or details or to see if you qualify for these programs.

Law & Grace Ministries

Law & Grace Ministries is a First Baptist organization in Belleville that does religious outreach to jails, prisons, law enforcement, and victims of crimes. They operate Fishes and Loaves Food Pantry, which is open from 9:30am to 12:30pm, with monthly food boxes available before 12pm. The church is located at 405 E Main St, Belleville, IL 62220. Jeremiah’s Food Pantry

Jeremiah’s Food Pantry says that they don’t require anything but someone to show up for assistance, and they do community events every month. They’re located at 538 S 35th St, East St. Louis, IL 62207. Their phone number is 314-537-2448. Check their Facebook for more information.

Catholic Urban Programs

The Catholic Urban Programs, run by the Catholic Archi Diocese in Belleville, offers a range of programs for people who meet the programs’ eligibility requirements, including a food pantry, rent and utility assistance, and housing crisis assistance. The Mind of Christ Church Food Pantry

Hosted by the Mind of Christ Church, the Mind of Christ Church Food Pantry is open on Wednesdays at 11:30am-1:00pm.
