Father’s Day

Happy Father's Day

Father’s Day is the third Sunday in June in the United States. The first Father’s Day was observed on July 5, 1908, in West Virginia after a horrific mining accident killed hundreds of men. The first Father’s Day to become an annual celebration occurred on the third Thursday in June in Spokane, Washington, in 1910. It became a national holiday in 1972.

Whether you are a dad, have a great relationship with your father or a non-existent one, we hope that you have a Happy Father’s Day! We always recommend books as gifts, but if you’re looking for activities, St. Louis Calendar has some great ideas.
