Happy Holiday Season! In this month’s newsletter, we have our holiday hours, reading suggestions, online shopping (with options for e-books and audiobooks), and general updates.
We’d like to give a huge shout-out to everyone who has shopped at our little store in the last month. Your support means so much to us.
Since we were not able to be open on Small Business Saturday due to the weather, we are extending our promotion throughout this week. If you spend $50 in store, you will get a free sticker pack. We will also still be doing our Toys for Tots and Food Pantry promotions this week through Friday, 12/5.
Holiday Hours
We will be open on Christmas Eve from 12pm to 4pm and closed on Christmas Day. We will also be open from 12pm to 4pm on New Year’s Eve and closed on New Year’s Day.

Location Update
Construction is well underway at our permanent location! They have done a lot of work removing the old floors and ceilings (no more asbestos, yay!), and plumbing and framing have been installed for our bathrooms. Unfortunately, we still do not have a solid date to move in. We will most likely still be in our temporary location through December. Thank you all for your patience!
Reading Suggestions
We’ve got a lot of great wintry books to choose from! Click on the banners below to explore our winter and holiday book suggestions!

If none of our suggestions seem interesting to you, that’s okay! We have lots of books in store, and if you’re looking for something specific that we don’t have, you can let us know. We will order it for you as long as our vendor actually carries it.
New Ways to Support Us!
Great news! TBR Books has connected with Bookshop.org and Libro.fm.

Bookshop.org is a fantastic website where you can buy books and e-books online but also support small independent bookstores like ours. If you want to shop online (or if you know someone out of town who wants to purchase books or e-books online), you can now do so while also supporting our store. For each online purchase, we get a percentage of the profit if you use our link or select our store using the “choose a bookstore” feature on the top right of the Bookshop.org website.
Libro.fm is also fantastic. It is very similar to Bookshop.org except it specializes in audiobooks! For every audiobook purchase, we get a percentage of the profit if you use our link. You can also select us as your chosen bookstore in the Libro.fm app.

Toys for Tots
TBR Books still has a box for Toys for Tots donations! Please feel free to drop off any new, unopened and unwrapped toys. We will be hosting the box until Friday, 12/5.
If you purchase one of our books to donate to Toys for Tots, we will offer 10% off your purchase including the donated book.

We had SUCH a good turnout for Toys for Tots in November that Lena had to call the Marines to come collect them early. The Marine Corps Reserve honored us with a Commander’s Award “for outstanding support of the 2025 Marine Toys for Tots Program.”
Lena cried actual tears of joy when she was presented with this award in store on November 14th.
We are thrilled to be part of such a generous and thoughtful community, and we are grateful for the opportunity to offer what support we can.
Thank you to everyone who has participated or spread the word.
O’Fallon Food Pantry
TBR Books also still has a donation box for the O’Fallon Food Pantry. O’Fallon Food Pantry serves clients in O’Fallon and Shiloh.

For every item donated, we will offer you $1 in store credit – up to $5 per visit. You’re welcome to bring as many items to donate if you like, but we can only provide store credit for up to 5.
On behalf of the pantry, we can accept canned food, boxed foods such as pasta or rice, and toiletries and personal hygiene items (and diapers). If you’d like to donate your time or money, please contact the Pantry directly.
The O’Fallon Food Pantry is located at 801 E. State Street in O’Fallon, and it is open from 9am-12pm on Monday, 9am-3pm on Tuesday, and 9am-3pm on Friday. Their phone number is 618-624-7040.
If you’re looking for food assistance but live outside of O’Fallon or Shiloh, we have a list of local resources on our Community Resources page. If we haven’t included your area, let us know.. It might also be a good idea to reach out to your local library because they usually have resources they can offer or know where you can find them.
Pixie’s Birthday
Pixie turned 5 years old on November 21st. As a treat, she got a very special whip cream cup from Scooter’s Coffee (located on Hwy 50). The baristas also gave her lots of compliments in the drive thru. Huge thanks to all of the customers who came into TBR Books that day because Pixie LOVES meeting people and giving them kisses.

Pixie is at our popup location all day every Wednesday, but sometimes she is in the store for a few hours on other days as well. We’ve been told that she won’t be allowed at our permanent location, so if you’d like to meet her, please stop by our popup location before we move!
Candles are HERE!
Pretty Okay Candles has set up candle displays in store, and there’s even a special scent just for us! It’s called Booked for the Night, and it’s lovely. We are SO excited, and the store smells incredible.

If you’re interested in becoming one of our local artisans (like Pretty Okay Candles), we have a FAQ page and an application for you. You can find them here.
