The Nightmare Before Kissmas by Sara Raasch is part of A Royals and Romance novel series. It has a holiday royalty, fake-dating, rivalry, and romance between the Prince of Christmas and the Prince of Halloween. It is a fun queer holiday read located in our Paranormal Romance section.

Lycanthropy and Other Chronic Illnesses by Kristen O’Neal is a lesbian paranormal romance with werewolves and a protagonist who has Lyme Disease. You can find it in our Paranormal Romance section.

Love Bites

Love Bites by Cynthia St Aubin is the first book in a snarky supernatural mystery series with murders, mystery, and cats. You can find it in our Paranormal Romance section, although it might migrate to the Mystery section one day.

Falling Like Leaves

Falling Like Leaves by Misty Wilson is the first book in the Bramble Falls series. It is a rom-com that stars a fall festival and a main character who has moved from Manhattan to small-town Connecticut her senior year of high school after her parent’s divorce. Murder in Postscript

Murder in Postscript by Mary Winters is the first book in the Lady of Letters mystery series. It is a historical murder mystery set in the mid-1800s and featuring a wealthy London widow as an amateur detective. This series is located in our Mystery section.

Entangled Life

Entangled Life: How Fungi Make Our Worlds by Merlin Sheldrake is the perfect nonfiction book for autumn. This is the season of mushrooms, but the book talks about the fungi we can’t see as well as the ones we can. If you want to better understand the world, this award-winning book is a great choice. Coyote America

Coyote America: A Natural and Supernatural History by Dan Flores traces the history of coyotes in North America across five million years. They have survived ex Coyotes are year-round critters, but it’s easier to hear their cries echoing across the fields in autumn. You can find it in our Reality section with the history books.

Ghosted

Ghosted: A History of Ghost Hunting, and Why We Keep Looking by Alice Vernon explores the social and historical interest in ghost hunting and how ghost hunting has evolved with new technologies. Right now, we have this book at the front of the store, but it will eventually move either to the history or technology sections depending on where we have space.

Vincent Price: A Daughter’s Biography

Vincent Price (1911-1993) was a well-known actor from St. Louis, Missouri. He was most well-known for playing horror roles, which makes his biography a great spooky-season read without the spookiness. Vincent Price: A Daughter’s Biography by Victoria Price talks about all of his roles: actor, chef, art historian, collector, and father. If you’re interested in what he had to say, we also have I Like What I Know by Vincent Price himself. Both books can be found in our Local Interest section, at the front of the store.

The Secret Lives of Color

If you’re thrilled about the different colors of fall (and about learning), this might be a good choice for you. The Secret Lives of Color by Kassia St. Clair is a gorgeous and well-researched book that explores the cultural and social histories of different colors. You can find it in our History section.
